The next Rhythm and Poetry Party is at the London Library! The RAP Party is a nostalgic, no-clutter, no-fuss, night of live literature and moving music. The format is simple: writers share work after which the Dj plays two songs of the writer’s choosing. And after that, we dance.
In commemoration of Africa Day, this special edition invites audiences and writers to imagine and re-imagine the possible histories and swirling narratives around artifacts in Manchester Museum’s collection. I will be joined by DJ Sid Mercutio on decks, and a fantastic line up of writers and performers from communities of origin, including Zodwa Nyoni, Yorusalem Okbamichael, Flematu Sessay, Linda Wachaga, Yusra Warsama, Elmi Ali, Kayo Chingonyi, Saf Elsenossi and Kofi Gyamfi.
